FAQ

What should we do to prepare for a session?

Please make sure young kids are well-rested and fed! Bring snacks along (but not snacks that will stain their lips/tongues/fingers :). Bring water and bug spray for outdoor summer/fall sessions.

How do we prepare for a newborn session?

For newborn sessions, please try to keep baby awake as long as possible before the session. Then I'll ask you to feed the baby right before I get there. Hopefully we will have a sleepy content baby for the session! However, life happens! So don't worry if your little one won't sleep. We will roll with it and you are welcome to feed him/her throughout the session as needed.

For in-home newborn sessions don't worry too much about cleaning!! The only things I ask is you have a large clean living room window and that you clear basic clutter out of the way (i.e. off bedroom nightstands, and any items you don't want in your pictures out of the living room).

What should we wear for family sessions?

The most important thing is to be comfortable and be yourselves! It is a good idea to coordinate outfits for the best look possible. Here are some links to what to wear and what not to wear websites.

How long do the sessions take?

Depending on the type of session, they typically last about 1 hour. Large family sessions can be up to 2 hours. Newborn sessions are about 2 - 2.5 hours.

Can I see some ideas for outfit colours and combinations?
